Social Networking

I've been taking part in a series of webinars lately with my friends Joanne and Hugh on social network marketing.  The topics covered have been pretty simplistic so far, and I haven't learned a whole lot.  But in doing so, I created a personal facebook profile to help boost the 'likes' on my NCS page.  It worked, doubling my likes in a couple of days. Yesterday's webinar told us that someone who clicks the like button on your site might never take a look at it a second time.  I'd have to keep up the work of creating "compelling conversations" to keep people coming back.  That sounds like something I don't want to be doing with my valuable time.

My husband, amongst many spouses out there, hates the whole idea of "wastebook" so much that little laser beams shoot out his eyes and smoke comes out of his ears every time someone mentions it.  So whether I like the tool or not, it becomes more stressful than it is useful.  Now some of you would maybe give up the husband first- Duke is worth alot more than social media to me.  To avoid air you can cut with a knife at my home, I deleted my social media sites.

So for anyone out there who'd like to keep in contact with me without the use of facebook or twitter ('cause it's just as well to get rid of all as some), I am a pretty good correspondent by email and post.
