Kindred Spirits 20/229 June 04 2016, 0 Comments

Another day of paperwork mingled with visitors and packaging mini-prints.

I get to meet lots of nice people visiting my studio.  Some people are more interesting to me than others though, and I wonder what it is that makes us feel so comfortable with people so quickly sometimes, and put up walls to others.  There are visitors I'd like to take home with me and talk about all aspects of life over supper and then convince them to buy a piece of real estate here and come to live next door year round and be best friends forever.  Others I forget the minute they leave.  Am I just being silly?  Or do you feel the same way when you meet new people?

“It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy;—it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others.”
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
