219/229 Local Support December 21 2016, 0 Comments

I have lots of work to do year-round, so I wouldn't close up shop just because I don't have many customers outside the tourist season.  But every year, I try to think of new ways to entice the local people in for a visit.  I would love to have the locals recommend my shop to others, even if they never spend a cent here themselves.  But how could they recommend such a visit if they don't know what I do here?

What do you think?  Do you have any ideas that might get people in the door?  Do you have something similar happening in your neck of the woods?  What works for you?

I do tell the people who recommend my shop to others how much I appreciate their kind words.  And it really does make a huge difference.  One couple from Newtown brought perhaps 50 visitors here this year.  That makes a huge difference to my bottom line, and whether or not I can make a living here in my hometown.
